Dry eyes

This woman has developed very dry eyes – she has difficulty opening them each morning and has to massage the lids to lubricate the eye. She’s tried several artificial tear preparations but they are not helping. Any suggestions? Have you tried Viscotears Liquid (best used several times a day) or LacriLube at night? Or try the biocare supplement called Eye Care, which is rich in lutein. Forever Living gets another plug with their Activator – dilute this with 50% cooled boiled water as it may sting a bit. Cinneraria eye drops from Helios Homeopathic Pharmacy work too, and make sure you get enough Omega-3 fish oil (1000 mg three times a day). Also get referred to an eye specialist because if your problem is a lack of tear production, there could be an underlying problem such as psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, etc. One reader says the specialist can very cleverly plug the bottom pores of the tear ducts so that the few tears you do produce linger around the eyes longer, which feels much better. A surgical fix mentioned is the electrocautery outpatient procedure – it’s successive, so you would need to take a week or more for treatment to account for minor swelling and further evaluation. Alternatively, one man recommends Donna Eden’s book, “Energy Medicine,” and says that since the eyes are directly related to the liver meridian, it may be in need of stimulation. The book will help you to do this. Finally, spend less time at the computer because reduction in blinking can cause dry eyes.
